SliceStep watches your real interactions — clicks, shortcuts, text you highlight — captures a step for each one, and builds an interactive walkthrough automatically, entirely on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded.

Record your screen normally. SliceStep tracks your real interactions in the background and takes a screenshot for each one — not a screenshot every time a pixel changes, so idle time and cursor blinks never turn into extra steps.
Clicks, right-clicks, double-clicks, text you highlight, keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+C, and form fields you fill each become a single step. For anything without a gesture — scrolling down to show a result — press Capture and it becomes a step too.
Instructions fill in automatically from the real control you clicked — its actual name and type, read directly from Windows, not guessed from a screenshot. Nothing here needs AI or an internet connection.
Ship it as an interactive HTML5 walkthrough, a checklist, an MP4, a GIF, a PDF, or Markdown — eight formats total, all generated locally, all yours to keep. Add an optional project description and it appears at the top of the walkthrough, or as an intro card on video and GIF.
One step per real interaction — clicks, right-clicks, double-clicks, highlighted text, keyboard shortcuts, filled fields — each anchored to the exact moment it happened, not a frame-diffing guess.
Narrate as you record, or per step afterward. Local transcription, and optional filler-word and dead-air trimming.
Scan a step for emails, phone numbers, SSNs, and card or account numbers, then black them out before you ever export.
Optional, off by default. When it's on, it fills gaps rather than doing the driving: drafting wording for icon-only controls, reading text off a region you select, and finding sensitive data to redact.

Most screen-recording tools send your screen to someone else's server. SliceStep doesn't have a server for your content to go to — everything runs, and stays, on the machine you're using.
